About this product
Arturia Analog Lab Play is the free edition of Analog Lab, designed for musicians and producers who want an easy way to explore a useful collection of virtual instrument sounds without paying for a full software package.
It includes 100 presets created from Arturia’s V Collection instruments and Pigments, covering sounds such as synths, keyboards, basses, pads and other production-ready instruments. The browser lets users filter sounds by type and instrument, making it relatively easy for beginners to find suitable presets quickly.
The interface includes four macro controls for adjusting brightness, timbre, time and movement, together with built-in effects including modulation, delay and reverb. MIDI parameters can also be mapped to Arturia keyboards or other MIDI controllers, making it a practical choice for home studio users who want hands-on control.
Analog Lab Play works as a standalone application and as a plugin in compatible DAWs. It also provides access to Arturia’s Sound Store, so users can expand their sound library later if they want more options.
For beginners, it is a particularly useful starting point because there are no subscription fees or time limits, and it gives users a genuine introduction to Arturia’s sound ecosystem before deciding whether to upgrade to Analog Lab Pro.
Why we recommend it
A strong free starting point for beginners who want to experiment with virtual instruments without buying software straight away. It also provides a natural upgrade path to Analog Lab Pro later.
